There are many ways to support Stafford Junction’s programs. We need volunteers to give their time, monetary donations to help fund our programs, and donations of items like school supplies and food. Please use the tabs below to see where you may be able to get involved.
Your support is vital to help us achieve our mission. We look forward to working with you as we strive to make a difference in Stafford County.
In order to put the kids first, we require that ALL volunteers have a basic background check through Protect My Ministry. The generous community at Ferry Farm Baptist Church does this for us. Please fill out and submit the form online.
High need students are identified through our partnerships with the schools. Once approved for Brain Builders, students will attend after school tutoring 2 times a week.
Monday/Wednesday afternoons at Kate Waller Barrett Elementary, Hampton Oaks Elementary and Ferry Farm Elementary.
Tuesday/Thursday afternoons at Rocky Run Elementary, Falmouth Elementary, Hartwood Elementary, Drew Middle School and Stafford High (afternoon & evening program).
Our tutors assist students with homework, learning English, reading & math. They also encourage responsible behavior, respect for others, and positive attitudes.
Goal: To assist each student with homework and encourage them to be reading up to grade level.
Requirements: A heart for helping children and being at least 14 years old.
Brain Builders runs during the school year (September/October to April/May) from 3:30-5pm.
** Volunteer Orientation and training will be held prior to starting.
Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, and we want to join the movement!
The world seems to have flocked to the stores on Black Friday and maxed out the remaining credit on credit cards on Cyber Monday but I want to ask you how many of those things you really NEED under your tree?
With a donation to Stafford Junction on Giving Tuesday, you give a future to an at-risk child, you educate a preschool student, you offer health and nutrition to a hungry family and you make a lasting change in the community in which you live. It’s local. It’s real. It’s not a gift for you, it’s a gift for the world.
