Brain Builders is an after school program that serves as the backbone of Stafford Junction. The program was designed to aid in homework, followed by focus on Math & Reading, along with fostering intellectual achievement by giving kids the tools they need to succeed in school. Brain Builders currently has 8 programs involving 8 public schools in Stafford County.
Brain Builders serves the following schools: Hampton Oaks Elem., Hartwood Elem., Rocky Run Elem., Kate Waller Barrett Elem., Ferry Farm Elem., Falmouth Elem., Edward E. Drew Middle, and Stafford High. Currently we serve ~133 students in grades K-12.
Elementary and middle school students attend Brain Builders either on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday (3:40 to 5:00p.m.), and our high schoolers attend Tuesday Evening at Stafford Junction (6:00 to 8:30p.m.)
Our team of volunteers ranges from middle school students in the National Junior Honor Society to high school & college students to community volunteers and retired teachers.
Our Goal is to have each student with a 1-on-1 tutor/mentor within our program. The reality is that we need more volunteers to meet the needs of the current enrollment.
We want to thank those who have been supporters of Stafford Junction. Without your help our programs would not exist.
